VIDEO: How To Roll your RRs at Walgreens!

These are the 4 Walgreens deals I did in the video.  Remember, Walgreens will not let you have more coupons then items so you need to have a filler item to cover that (I used a caramel).  Also RR’s count in your coupon to product ratio but the coupons in the Monthly coupon book DO NOT count towards that ratio!  For more details on shopping Walgreens Check out my Walgreens Guide HERE!

In the following 4 transactions I paid just $11.83 plus tax out of pocket and brought home over $50 worth of items & $7.50 in RR’s to use on my next purchases!

Transaction 1

Buy 1 Complete Mulitpurpose Solution 12 oz, $8 = $8 RR
use $1/1 Complete Multipurpose Contact Solution 7/31/2011 SS Insert
Pay $7 plus tax

Get back a $8 RR from the Complete

Transaction 2

Buy 1 Goodie Hair Clips, $2 = $2 RR
Buy 2 Cottonelle, $5 Each = $10
Buy 2 Get $3.50 RR
use 2 $0.75/1 Cottonelle Coupons
and use $1/1 Cottonelle Walgreens Monthly Coupon Book coupon (will subtract $2)
use $8 RR from Transaction 1
pay $0.50 plus tax

Get back a $2 RR from the Goodie
Get back a $3.50 RR from the Cottonelle

Its the End of the Month! Clean out your Coupons but DONT TOSS THEM!

Its the end of the month which means you need to get out your coupon binder take a look through it and pull out all the expired coupons…BUT WAIT..DONT TOSS THEM!!!  Here are 2 better alternatives…

I get so many questions …on a daily basis… asking me what to do with expired coupons.  No one wants to just toss them out, because when you coupon you look at the coupons as cash…who wants to throw out cash?   Did you know that our military stationed overseas can use your expired coupons up to 6 months PAST the expiration date? And did you know that Military families overseas have  no way of obtaining coupons except thru us back home?!  I have 2 great ways for you to donate your coupons…

OPTION 1. There is a great site called Coups For Troops …You can donate your clipped & expired coupons to them and they will get them into the hands of Military Personnel who can use them!  All you need to do is cut them… and send them on over!  You don’t need to separate them into categories or do anything special…just clip and send!

Coups For Troops
PO Box 147
Winnabow NC 28479

What types of coupons should I send?
All manufacturer coupons
Coupons specific to stores cannot be used (ie Target, Publix, CVS).
Printed internet coupons can be used by our recipients.
Because of the time it takes packages to get to our recipients, send coupons that have expired in the last month or two.  Commissaries will accept coupons that are up to six months expired.
What do I need to do before I mail them?
We only ask that you cut out the coupons before sending them to us.  This way you can fit more coupons in a smaller package.  You can save money by using priority mail.
Do I have to sort them, too?
As of June 6 2011, we are no longer concerned with separating the coupons into food and non-food.
Do overseas commissaries and PXs really accept expired coupons?
It’s true.  Commissaries overseas will accept expired coupons up to 6 months past their expiration date.  Read their expired coupons policy here.  Those stationed in Alaska or Hawaii, although considered an “overseas move” by the US military, cannot use expired coupons.
I don’t live in North Carolina.  Can I still send you my coupons?
Absolutely! Our military families don’t care where the coupons come from. They just appreciate your support.
Who will receive and benefit from these coupons?
We strive to help all that stand the line, regardless of branch.   We send one hundred percent of the donated coupons to our recipients all over the globe.  The expired coupon policy only applies to commissaries overseas.  Families serving outside of The US are unable to find coupons like we can here.  View our map to see where we send our coupons, where our recipients are serving.

OPTION 2. If you want to not only send your coupons to a military family but actually develop a pen-pal relationship this is the option for you!  Coupons To Troops is a great organization that pairs you up with a military family in need of coupons.

“It is our goal to spread awareness about overseas military families being able to use coupons that are expired, up to 6 months past the expiration.  But it is also our goal to get coupons right into the hands of those military families as quickly as possible.   We have a growing list of military families on our contact list who are interested in receiving coupons and we will match up anyone requesting a military family to send their coupons to.”

To request a family, all you need to do is send an email to  admin@couponstotroops.com and they will put you in touch with a military family.

For the military families the coupons are being received  much quicker when they are sent directly to them, than when coupons are sent to a collection point in the US and then need to be repackaged up before they are mailed overseas.  Sending an envelope directly overseas can take up to a few weeks, but when you add in the extra time to get them to a collection point, and the time to get them sorted and repackaged and then mailed overseas, it can be over a month before the coupons are in the hands of the families who need them.  For our senders, they’ll know that their coupons are being received and that they are appreciated as they have that one-on-one contact with the family they are sending to.  And best of all, there is no additional cost to send the coupons directly overseas, as it is the same exact postage cost as if you were mailing across town!

STC’s 2 Cents…

I think both options are great!  BUT  I feel strongly that if your not able to commit to send your expired coupons EVERY month you should send yours to CoupsForTroops.  I love the Concept of CouponsToTroops pairing you up with a family…but just be aware that they will be depending on YOU to send them coupons each month…so if you cant make the commitment to send them monthly…then dont choose that option =)

NCP: Earn Rewards for Shopping!

National Consumer Panel home scan is again accepting NEW applicants! If you are accepted you will receive a scanner which you will use to track the different groceries and items you purchase and bring into your home. (If you join…have your kids do all the scanning…they will LOVE it…and it means less “work” for you!)

In exchange for doing this, you can earn some great prizes such as electronics, toys, gift cards and more! Not everyone gets accepted…but, if you do get accepted…give it a try!  You can always return the scanner if you dont like the program.   And it is totally free!  *This time around you DO NOT need a land line telephone!  Check out what reader Ellen had to say about NCP:

“I do NCP National Consumer Panel that used to be Homescan…. I scan and do online surveys for really nice gifts, like my BluRay player! I’ve been in for 10 years now. I have a shop vac, an upright hoover, and a lightwave toaster oven. I can’t remember if there is anything else…good stuff! I scan my grocery and other stores shopping and transmit each week. I do survey’s and earned the points for all this! “

I’ve heard recently from many of my blogger friends and readers that many people are not getting accepted but are receiving TV viewing schedules in the mail requesting them to be filled out for cash!  I thought that was kinda cool! …so is it a BAD thing to be turned down…Im thinking no =)

Do you have a positive NCP story to share? email me or leave it in a comment!!!
